The Lappish Village of Äkäslompolo is surrounded by 7 fells making the scenery truly breathtaking. In the middle of the village is a large Lappish lake which provides a centre of much activity in the village. Äkäslompolo is better known by the resort name Ylläs; which is also the name of the skiing fell shared between the two villages situated on either side of the mountain. Ylläs provides an excellent mix of unspoilt nature; peace and tranquillity; Lappish atmosphere; tradition and activities. |
